For ~coolmarvin, also partly as my appreciation for him being my devwatcher since I first started here on devArt.

KEEP IN MIND THAT I'VE ONLY USED PHOTOSHOP FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS NOW, SO I ONLY KNOW HOW TO DO THINGS BASED ON HOW I'D DO IT WITH TRADITIONAL METHODS. SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT KNOW AN EASIER WAY, BUT THIS WAY WORKS QUITE WELL FOR ME. This is the technique I use for [link] and [link] |

Yeah, I know stars aren't really colourful, but you have to admit it's prettier when it's not real. Aesthetics and prettiness before realism, I think thats one of the underlying principle of anime and fantasy arts. It can't be fully unreal cause that's just going to become abstract art, but I think it's neccessary to 'enhance' things a little After all, when it comes to realistic spacescapes, Bob Eggleton once said, "How can I (a fantasy artist) compete with the Hubble space telescope?"
