So that being said, anyone interested in an old Wacom Graphire 3 tablet (8x6, A5 work area)? It's gone through quite a lot of use, but is still in decent working condition. However, it may not work with Windows Vista since Wacom has stopped making this model and replaced it with the Bamboo, so I'm not sure if the driver will work as I still use XP.
Price... I dunno, maybe 30 bucks (AUD) plus shipping? I'm in Adelaide, Australia, so people in other countries would probably find that it's not worth the shipping cost, but if you're in Oz here's your chance to get a working Wacom tablet for the price of a slab of beer. It was around AUD$350 when I bought it around 4 years ago. Still works, and I did use it for all my digital works up until now, so it's been a reliable workhorse for me. The eraser tip on the pen is not as responsive these days, but the pen tip works fine. I also still have the original box it came with. If you're interested let me know and I can send you a photo of it if you like.

The graphire used to be Wacom's entry level tablet aimed at students, with less sensitivity than the Intuos but still good enough even for some professionals. The pen has two tips, a pen tip and an eraser tip, and as I mention the eraser tip on mine has lost some sensitivity, but the pen tip is fine (so you can use it for erasing by changing brushes instead of flipping the pen). A replacement pen is about $50 from wacom if you so desire, but I made most of my recent digital works without the use of the eraser tip at all since it's less precise anyway. Any digital work in my gallery up until now has been made with that one same tablet I'm now selling.
As for the tablet, a couple of used graphire 3 of the same size (but rarely used) was sold for $60-70 through ebay, so I thought half that would be fair for mine as it has been used extensively. the official specs are
Resolution: 2032 dpi (800 lines/cm)
Abs. accuracy: ± 0.5 mm
Pressure Levels: 512
SampleRate: 100 points/sec.
Interface: USB
Power supply: Via USB
like all wacom tablet, the pen needs no batteries. It also does not provide the drawing software, so it wouldn't be very useful if you do not use photoshop, painter or something similar.
However, wacom has decided to stop making the Graphire in favour of the Wacom Bamboo, so there may be problem in compatibility with Vista as I don't know if they will provide an updated driver.
2. How much are you selling it for?

THE MANIAC...IS IN THE MAILBOX!
2. AUD$ 30 (so probably $USD20), plus whatever the shipping cost is.
I'm seling my old one for cheap since it's got a high mileage, but a good engine, so to speak.
